Downpayment Assistance

AmeriDream Downpayment
Program. This is a "gifting program" where the seller
provides (through AmeriDream) a gift to the purchaser that can
be used for a downpayment. (Similar to Nehemiah.) |

Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco's Individual Development
and Empowerment Program (IDEA) -- provides up to $15,000 for
each participating household, matching up to $3 for each $1
saved in an FSS escrow account (or IDA), when used for a
homeownership purchase through a FHLB member bank. Funds
are limited. Need to work with a FHLB member bank to
apply. |

Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle's Home$tart program --
provides up to $10,000 for each participating household,
matching up to $2 for each $1 saved in an FSS escrow account,
when used for a homeownership purchase through a FHLB member
bank. (A 3 to 1 match is also available, for a total grant
of up to $5,000). Funds are limited. Need to work

Financial Literacy Education

Building Blocks to Financial
Success. Online financial empowerment training program
where individuals learn basic personal financial management
skills while interacting with their counselor and other learners
via the Internet. Curriculum is approved by the American Express
Financial Education Clearinghouse on the National Endowment for
Financial Education. Developed by the Women's Opportunity
Resource Center (WORC), it is available to other organizations

FDIC's Money Smart Online. Free online training on
Financial Education that covers the entire FDIC Money Smart
Curriculum. Available in English or Spanish, the
self-paced course may also be ordered on CD-ROM. Teachers'
curricula available in English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean and
Vietnamese through FDIC's

download the 2004 copy of the FSS regulations in text format,
but not in PDF format. We have therefore posted a PDF
of the 2003 copy of the FSS Regulations. We are unaware of any
changes to the FSS regulations between 2003 and
2004.
